The Rockem Sockem Club
Joshua is the head boxing coach and striking coach for 10th Planet San Diego. He is passionately building out The Rock'em Sock'em Club, committed to nurturing talent and promoting the sport. This new adventure involves creating a pro boxing program in San Diego, modeled after the successful program developed in Texas. With the support of his family and team, Joshua continues to expand and enhance their programs, driven by a deep love for martial arts and a relentless dedication to his athletes.
Joshua has dedicated his life to martial arts since the age of 5. His journey spans Kenpo Karate, Kickboxing, and Wrestling, and he has competed in Karate, Kickboxing, and Wrestling. Currently a 6th-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, Joshua serves as a Professor of the Arts. With over 25 years of coaching experience, he has also served as the Secretary for the West Texas USA Boxing Region.
Joshua has been instrumental in developing the Lubbock Boxing Competition Team into a nationally recognized program. Working alongside his mother, Rose Marie Barker, at her gym, the Boxing Club in Texas, now known as Lubbock Boxing Club, Joshua helped build a strong team that has produced national champions.
Throughout his career, Joshua has worked with an incredible team of coaches and athletes, including Edgar Herrera, Roman Lorenzi, Jordan Barker, and now Pearl Gonzalez. In San Diego, he continues to work closely with Jordan, Pearl, and Von Simmons as well as many other fighters. The team in Texas, which Joshua helped build, thrives under the guidance of coaches Edgar Herrera, Veronica Herrera and Erik Lorenzi, their parents, the head coaches there.
